Since the snow has finally arrived, this seems like the perfect time to talk about streets, sidewalks, and snow removal.
- Please remember that there is no overnight parking on Village streets from November through April. This allows our plows to remove snow efficiently. We will plow around vehicles, but there is a very good chance that illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and eventually towed.
- The Village of Sodus also plows sidewalks in the Village. Please keep sidewalks clear of vehicles. Although this applies year-round, it is especially important that vehicles do not block the sidewalks during winter months.
- It is also important to remember that snow removed from driveways may not be pushed across Village streets and roads. Snow from private properties must remain on the property, or be hauled away. It may not be disposed of in or on the streets.
Winter is also the time for burst pipes. If you see a broken water pipe, please contact the Village offices during normal business hours (315.483.9821), the Village Water Department after hours (315.359.8218 or 315.483.8325), or in cases of public safety, call 911.
